We have a sweet little party to attend on Saturday. The sweetie in question turned two yesterday. I know she likes dolls, so we had a look around the toy shops for inspiration, but to no avail. There wasn't anything really pretty or in the right price range either.
So we drove home, and while driving, I suddenly had a fabulous idea. I could make her a doll cot set if she had a cot, or a carry case if not. I knew I had fabric, oh yes, plenty of that!
On Tuesday, instead of blogging I decided to actually do some work for a change. I needed to get it done as I had our own birthday to deal with this week. So, I found one of our own pram carry cases and took a pattern off it. Quite straight forward really as it's just straight lines.
The carry case came together without any problems and it is padded and lined. Baby fits nicely inside and is cosy and warm.
Well, I was having so much fun playing dollies that I decided a matching bib would be in order. The silly bias binding wasn't playing the game right so a bit of double folding and handsewing was required to finish it off. All's well that ends well.
And no baby should be without a nappy changing mat. This was a last minute decision for a bit more fun. Just a rectangle with velcro bits to keep it folded.
I hope she enjoys playing with her doll with these extra accessories. She has a real baby arriving later on in the year, so she can join in with mum and share the nappy changes.

Oh my Gosh those are amazing -- my little daughter would LOVE that carrying case!! Has the birthday girl seen her presents yet?
How wonderful! What a lucky birthday girl!
Absolutely lovely - my son became very keen on playing 'babies' when his little brother arrived, so I think this set will be absolutely perfect! Thanks very much for your challenge ('defi', in French)! I need to get thinking and I may be able to post about it tomorrow...

It's not too easy to read your blog, that's true , but I like it .Firstly because you make such wonderful things ,secondly because you always write about so many different things in such a nice and interesting way !
Loving this idea! I have been wanting to make the exact same thing for B! I think I might order some Kawaii fabric off Etsy to do it with. Did the birthday girl like it?
