He Loves Me...

 He loves me not :(

He loves me!

He really loves me!!

And I really love my girls.  I made them love heart pikelets for afternoon tea today.  What a lovely surprise for them this Valentines Day.

Someone clearly loves chocolate too!!  Goodness me.

Happy Valentines Day to you all!  I hope you all have a very LOVE-ly day today where ever you are.  Fourteen years ago hubby and I got engaged!  How cool is that?  He was in NZ and I was in England.   I still think he's fabulous.  He's improved with age too I think.  We compliment each other perfectly which is nice.  We keep saying the same things too which comes with spending many years together I guess.

Loving you Mr P!!  xxxxxxx

Tough Decisions

You are such a bunch of loves aren't you?  You always have such lovely things to say about what I've made.  I really do appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment, I know how busy you all are.  Of course I don't want you to leave me a comment every time, I'm thrilled even if you've just stopped by to read my ramblings.

Remember my yoyos from the weekend?  Well now they are a cushion.  With linen covered buttons no less.

I also think I love it on my bed.  Yes I know I made it as a present...  but...

You have to agree, it does look good on our bed, don't you?  Do you also think it looks great on the carpet?  Now you think I've gone potty in my head don't you?  Please let me explain...

We need your opinion once again.  Yes, you see we value your opinion very much.  You did so well with the curtain choice last year that now we want to use your fabulous knowledge with something even more important than that.  Carpet.

You see it's not easy to choose carpet.  Especially when men see colours so differently to us.  I just don't get it quite frankly.  And they say carpets look two shades lighter when down.  How on earth are you supposed to imagine that?!!

Anyway the nice carpet man, who just happened to fall down the office stairs racing to his appointment with us and ended up with two slipped discs and sustained a large hematoma on his nether region (ooops!), found a really big sample of this colour for us.  The very colour the man of the house liked best (and I didn't agree).  I have to say it looks pretty good in the photo.  Do you think it looks OK too?  Neutral looking?  It's actually got browny bits mixed with whitey natural bits.

It's only for in our bedroom at the moment, we had to as there were large bits of carpet missing after ripping out the mini kitchen.  We aren't ready to do the whole house yet.  If we end up having to change it in a few years time to have matching carpets, well that's just the way it is.  In NZ we have the whole house lot of carpet the same.  We just do!

So if you would like to give your two cents/pence worth, go ahead.  We won't mind if you don't like it a bit.  Honestly!

Button Love

Remember this button heart?  I was just playing really but liked the end result so much that I decided to stitch the buttons on some fabric.  Lululiz graciously offered to send me a piece of home woven cloth that is over one hundred years old to make my heart extra special.  Imagine that?  She's so sweet to me.

Anyway I finally put it together in the weekend and hand stitched every little button on.  I quite like it with my LOVE sign.  I quite like it generally really.

I have a wonderful, but little, collection of older buttons from my mother and Gran, and some sent from dear blogging friends Floss and Michela.  You just don't get the same result with new plastic ones.

It was most enjoyable sorting out just where each button should be placed.  I must find out from my mother what the buttons were from.  I'm sure she'll know.  I do know that the pink flower one has always been her favourite.  It's our favourite one as well.

Lacing the fabric is always a bit of a challenge, but a more pleasurable one when using such special fabric.

I love the card Liz made for me.  I would have loved to have used the lace flower she made too, but I think it may have to wait for another project.

I'm very pleased with my new heart.  I can't wait to add it to my heart collection one day.  One day when I actually have a bedroom.  It's in a state of renovation these days.  A right royal state actually.

I'm busting to show you my newest project but I'll not overload you with photos.  Perhaps next time.  We have another birthday this week.  No.1 is turning 11 on Thursday so I guess I should start thinking about her.  No party this year, but a family meal instead.  Should be quite lovely.  Right must go and take her to her clarinet lesson.  Bye for now!

Things I Love at Present...

My buttons, although there's nothing special about these ones.  I have them in this dish on the side board and the girls dip their hands into it and scoop and play with them.  I think they like buttons too!

My side board, because it's the only piece of my home that is clean and tidy.  I like the colours on it as well.  Very Autumnal don't you think?  Those apples will all be gone in a few days by the way.  That's the trouble with having six people to feed.  Lucky for me they only cost $2 for the lot of them.

Floral fabrics.  These are destined to become dresses for my littlest cupcake.  The one on the left is old and came via my Grandmother.  She loves it which is good.  It's a really soft cotton so should be lovely to wear.  The bright ones are new and should add a bit of zing to Winter. Please note that not one of them features paisley.

Now I'm wondering if perhaps Liz has popped on over from England for a cuppa... I know she has a granny trolley.  It certainly doesn't belong to us.  Now I'm calculating that I have precisely 3.5 hours until I get a jolly good blasting from her royal highness!!

I'm outta here!

Love, love, love...

I can't get this Beatles song out of my head today.  Not that I'm complaining, it's such a beautiful song.  It gives me an excuse to show you all my special but small heart collection as well.
I love hearts.
I love love too.

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy.

There's nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you
in time - It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

Thank you to all of you, you very lovely people, who have left comments for me in the past.  I love reading them and the smiles you leave me with.
Thank you!
