Oh, What A Glorious Morning!

I washed and ironed all my new fabrics yesterday. There is so much pleasure in ironing brand new, pretty fabrics isn't there? Definitely one of the small pleasures in life for me. Although I didn't feel quite as enthusiastic, when I came to the four metres of pure white cotton at the bottom of the pile. It's still there I'm afraid. Too boring for me! It does look scrumptious though, even in it's crumpled state.

As you can see from the above photo, I have had tea with a friend this morning. Our girls played outside in the beautiful sun, on this gorgeous day, it really feels like spring today. Yes, I know, who am I kidding! We are expecting strong winds and rubbish weather tonight.

I even baked a cake, before the girls even left for school. Sometimes I even impress myself. The girls are looking forward to afternoon tea today, for a change. They would love a Mum who baked more often, but hey, we can't do everything can we?

Onto projects now, I found a hand towel that used to be rather flash before a cleaning lady splashed bleach on it. It was fairly new and an expensive gift too! Anyway, last night I decided to give it a makeover. This new fabric really suits the colours of the towel.

I stitched a band of the fabric onto the bottom front of the towel, and look, doesn't it look great now? I had such fun transforming it back to a lovely towel again. I think I shall buy a few more towels and add other fabrics to make them look special too.

I found a lovely blanket stitch on my sewing machine, which I have also used on my houses. It's the latest craze of mine. Everything is being blanket stitched now! Kind of looks like I've spent hours painstakingly hand stitching, when it actually took no more than half an hour all up.

Well, I think we just might pop out for an hour with the little girls and do a bit of shopping. Got a few things that need doing and I must check out handtowels!!

Ok, I am immensely envious again now, a sewing machine with blanket stitch, wow! Does look rather nice on the towels, I have to say, and yes you are right, the fabric compliments the towel beautifully. You clever little sausage, you.
Oh, just remembered, you said cleaning lady, you have a cleaning lady? A real proper one? Really? Gosh.
