Flower Power

Thank you all so much for all your very lovely comments regarding the little paisley top I made earlier in the week.  I really do love it as well, as does little No.4.  But you only get such kind remarks such as the ones I received, from you in Blogland.  No one else seems to notice such things.  Or comment on them anyway.

When I announced this morning that I wanted photos of the pants, she immediately raced out the door and perched herself on a rock, "I'm ready" she said.  So funny how they know just what Mama wants, even if she is turning into a mad woman.  That reminds me, today she told my mother that I was a bad driver!!!  Who does she think she is?

Well I did try out the trousers from the same pettern and they are a success (depends on your definition of success though!) as well.  The fabric is either going to grab you or scare you off.  It's been sitting in my stash for about six years.  I have this thing that I just have to use fabrics that I've bought at some stage.  I must have like it at the time, I guess??  Now I'm not so sure but they are growing on me, and little miss as well luckily.  The reason I decided to use this fabric, was that I wanted to test the pattern on something that didn't matter if it failed.

I made a few alterations due to the fact that they were meant to be made in stretch fabric.  These are baby cord so should be great for winter.

The pocket stitching is a programmed stitch that backstitches four times over the same stitch to give a really solid stitched look.  I love it but it's soooo sloooow, but everything afterwards seems super fast.

I've been shopping today.  This time I found some beautiful trims for my projects.  I've used one of the cotton laces already.  I'll take some photos to show you next time.  Did I mention they were super cheap as well?  Only $1-3 per metre!  That's hardly anything!!  And there were plenty more to choose from as well.

Lovely fabric! I'm a big fan of printed cords - it's so hard to find nice ones though. Whenever I find one I like, I buy it, even if I don't have a plan for it.
